GO BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT
EDUCATION
The project goal is to improve the long term, education and development prospects of children, and the youths in Malawi. Youth in Malawi struggle with a number of negative factors that hinder their long-term potential for growth, development and education. Percentage enrolment in primary schools in Mzuzu is 68%.Of these only 42% go into standard 6. Dropout rate is at 25% while the pass rate low as compared 58% according to the District Education Office. The main contributor to such scenarios is that children are not exposed to education at an early age and they do not know the importance of education.
Education remains a key in everything. However current challenges with youths in Malawi are: many youths drop out from school for several reasons, some because of poverty, orphan hood and others just because they see nothing good with education. Many families in Malawi are below the poverty line; due to this parents or guardians fails to pay school fees for their children, or buy needed education materials. Hence they drop out from school at a younger age. Many of these youths they end up engaging themselves in moral doings such as, prostitution, the use of drugs and substance abuse, premarital sex just to name a few. Of which through these activities they are easily to lose their fruitless life.
There is no way we can wrestle with poverty and hoping to overcome it some other days if we just sit down, in our offices and homes. All we need as a nation is to get armed with education, if a child is coming from a poor family were his or her guardians are falling to provide him with all needed educational materials, it is easily for this person to drop out from school. Even his children will also walk in the same line; hence their parents are an educated and cannot afford to take care of their children education programs.
If people are educated their human rights can be respected hence they are opened up and knows what to follow or do. Political effluences can never find a room in such kind of a nation WHY? They are awake, education does that, it awakens people.
And thus why The Amazing Grace Production has come up with this three years project which we are calling it GO BACK TO SCHOOL. The aim of this project is to teach the public the importance of educated to a nation, and also not only teaching them but reaching them with needed materials such as paying schools fees, buying them books, school uniform and all needed materials for them to progress in their education. In this project AGP is targeting several groups starting with those who are still doing their education but they cannot manage to progress with their education in terms of school fees, educational materials, lack of models who can motivate their lives. The second group will be those who dropped out from school due different problems they encountered in their school days.
The goals of AGP are that come 2017 at a number of school droppers should decrease, with a good number in Malawi. And also through a civilized nation people’s human rights will be respected hence they are in a know of their own human rights why? They are educated.
